Coach Pitch is offered for boys and girls in Kindergarten, First and Second grade. Kindergarten is a co-ed league. Participants will learn baseball skills while developing a love of the game. Grades 1st-2nd will have a practice once per week, scheduled by your child’s coach, and games will be played on Saturdays. Kindergarten (ages 5 and current kindergarten children) is an instructional league that introduces children, to the fundamentals of the sport. League format includes 20-25 minutes of practice, followed by a game led by volunteer coaches. Pre-season practices may be held and once the season starts the practice and game are both held within one hour on Saturdays for the kindergarten league.
Game times vary between 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. based on number of children enrolled. A YMCA Jr. Storm Chasers jersey is required for this league. Visit your local YMCA welcome center to pick up your jersey.
Season Dates: Starts June 4, 2016 and runs for 6 weeks (Kindergarten) or 8 weeks (Grades 1-2)
